Determination

My "focus" word for 2012 is DETERMINATION

As an artist and creative person, I start out with great intentions to design and create. There comes many times where my focus goes by the wayside because I am off to something new and before I know it, my brain is scrambled with multitudes of more ideas than I can do in a day. I have my trusty notepad where I now scribble down ideas and sketch if I need to.

I will focus this year on being determined to stay the course of one to two designs at a time.

I printed out my quote on fabric from my inject printer and used Derwent Inktense pencils to doodle around the words. These pencils are activated with water or anything wet. I **love** Sherry Rogers quilts and her inking techniques. She has developed a product that I not only use but love what it does to the colors of the pencils. It's called InkFusion. It has a bit of sparkle when applied over the pencil colors and leaves the fabric soft at hand. You can use other fabric mediums, but I highly recommend InkFusion.

I have now started beautiful shading on my applique quilts.

For some strange reason, I have been saving all my empty spools of thread to make something wonderful with them. I have all sizes, some plastic and some are wooden from yard sale finds.

Maybe these ideas will spark something creative inside of you too!

No resolutions for me this year, my teaching brochure,what I have been working on,Fun stuff and Your color fix for today

I just can't do it this year. Seems every year I sit with this blank sheet staring at me as I firmly grip my pen waiting to write miraculous recoveries for my life.

Believe me when I tell you that I want to write amazing awesomeness, but I always regress to the good old standby's....lose weight, eat healthy, exercise blah blah blah. Resolutions work for alot of people, and I commend those that can sincerely write them down and follow through,or at least try.

Me? I have this inner self that fights things when I have to do something that I know it right, but now it's written down with a deadline. Not for me. Why? Because my life changes minute to minute. Deadlines loom, creativity muses knock on your door when they feel like it and if I have to walk a certain amount of steps in....say the morning and Ms. Creativity Muse has a different agenda for me, and well....I will agonize about not meeting a resolution goal and feel bad about it to distraction.

I do the best I can everyday. I am more of a list maker and some may say that I make daily resolutions. I say, it My To Do List and it's just the nature of the beast for being in business for myself.

Oh I do have goals for sure, but they aren't resolutions. I just don't "do" resolutions well and I am good with that. I now can breath easier knowing I will not be making them.

What I have been working on...

The last quarter of every year is devoted to designing, writing and making new quilts for the upcoming year's classes. I have loved making each of these new quilts and here is why:

I have named this quilt "A Bunch of Happy" because that is exactly how it made me feel through every process of making this quilt.My objective in this class is offering the students a choice of making the pattern provided in their kit or teach them to create their own happy bouquet by rearranging the flowers. Layering flowers on top of other flowers provides for interesting new flowers and that's a bonus!

I was at a loss for a quilt title, so I asked on Facebook for suggestions. They were all awesome...seriously! I decided to go with "Hearts United" given by Cecelia Cushing. My technique is machine quilting with glue-stick and wash away sheets. Everything I do can be applied with freezer paper, but I really like wash away sheets (soon to be available through me on my website store being relaunched mid January). The objective in this class is to take the fear out of points, believe me, your points will be pointy and curves will be curvy! Pick your favorite word or name or monogram and I will teach you to have it inked on your fabric in no time!

"Hearts Desire" can be a table-runner or turn it vertically for a skinny quilt. I wanted to create something fun and whimsical with just enough going on without being overwhelming.I love teaching anything with bias tape and in your class kit comes all the pre-made fusible bias tape but I will teach you to make your own designer bias tape. (Who knows, maybe you want something with lots of color in it!)

The Hummingbird isn't exactly new, but I did a redo of the quilt and I think it is one of my loveliest class offerings.

Some Fun Now......

YES..I really own these!

I found these at the pharmacy while waiting for my prescription. (My pharmacist wears these too) I love these and I can't tell you how much it helps when I am sewing hand work or reading at night.

So, my curiosity got the best of me and I went searching for what other lighted accessories were out there. Why can I see myself getting these for the fun of it?

Nov. '11 I went on creative retreat with some good friends. I don't know how they hid this from me, but they threw me a red neck wedding reception. (Yep...I tied the knot Sept '11) Yes...a dime store wedding gown for me and they all dressed in thrift store prom/ball gowns. I have been sworn to secrecy to never show these pictures...but here is one of the consumed bottles of wine with my private label...hence the play on words "Bridlewood".

I truly applaud those that can successfully multitask. I really do. For the first time ever, I can honestly admit that I am not good at it. I am not talking about emptying the dishwasher while talking on the phone or throwing the dog a Frisbee while raking the leaves, I am talking about how life is a "Hurry Up" world and "Get as much as you can done" in your day. It causes anxiety and can ultimately be a downer at the end of the day when you see you didn't get all you wanted to do finished. In a world where we are practically tethered to our smart phones, computers iPads, tablets and endless technology, you would think everything would be easier. For a while I thought making detailed To Do Lists would be my answer. The lists seemed to get longer and multi tasking would be my answer. How can a creative person with to many ideas in her head accomplish this?

For a person who loves to cook, I found that preparing healthy meals became a burden and I opted for the quick and easy. Not good. Fitting in exercise or an annual check up at the doctors went on the back burner. Even Zoie my pup, went to the wayside just a little bit. It was easier to open the door to let her do her business that putting the leash on and taking her for a proper walk. I found myself starting designs and having 4-5 quilts going at the same time. I can handle only 3 at one time to prevent boredom.

I am not a one man band able to juggle multiple instruments. I am going back to my tried and true trusty notebook brain. The place where I list my urgent things to do on the left side and my want to do's on the right side. Walking that tight rope is not what I want for my life. Even proper sleep is neglected so I can do "just one more thing". So, for me to wrap up this year and start fresh in 2012, I have decided to put that leash on Zoie and walk her. It will be good for my mind as well as for those extra pounds I carry. I will not stress my life being disappointed if I cannot get to something right there and then while trying to do another task. No more I say. I am living in the present moment from now on and making sure that whatever it is I am doing, I do it well and with passion...not half way. Anyone else want to join me?

HAPPY NEWS

Life is good and I feel extraordinarily elated.

I am not so sure if I lead an ordinary life, but I married my best friend late September. Our ceremony was on The Delaware river, a place that is near and dear to our hearts.

Billie Jo, my best friend for life and maid of honor shares with me what we do best - belly laughs!

It's that time again, where I work on new designs for new classes for the following year . It's not finished yet, but would this not look fabulous on your table as a runner or a skinny quilt on your wall? I named this "Blooming Hearts"...well the name came from the help of friends!

I have been working on adding applique to painting on fabric. I painted the trees on fabric and then added these little hearts on line with words that are important to me. It is something new I am developing for a class! How does "Hearts on the Line" sound to you for a name?

So, another blog done with joy and I didn't answer a phone or multitask or do anything else while writing this. Ok....I admit I let the pup out to do her business, but that doesn't count now does it?

......I recently taught for CQC (Colorado Quilt Council) in Colorado Springs, CO. My personal attendant, now friend, Lynda Bruce ( a die hard geo-cacher) showed me all the awesomeness of her state during my visit.

The Creative Adult,Thinking Outisde the Obvious,Crop Circles and Your Color Fix for Today

When I first saw this quote, my first thoughts were "How sad". But instantly I reversed that thought and began to rework it in my mind. It actually is a wonderful quote. So what exactly does a child survive to be a creative adult? Not all creative adults lack self esteem or criticisms, but many do. The survival of adolescence, self doubts and self worth is a magnificent feat. You may not know you survived them and they still may linger inside of you, but pushing forth all of that magnificent and wonderful energies that keep you creative, make you worthy. The word would be less colorful without you.We all survived being that awkward child trying to find their inside passions, but as creative adults we did survive that.Keep at it, keep creating, keep making wonderful things that make "you" happy and the world, and your surroundings will be much better for it!

I love anything that is free flowing. Taking a pencil to paper and just effortlessly drawing long winding lines. That is how I begin almost every design I do. I can't think things out to death or have a preset plan of what I will draw or design. It comes from within. I never know what the end result will be and that is what makes designing exciting for me. The beginning of this skinny quilt is in it's infant stages. Nothing sewn down and more to go and I can feel this simple quilt will be delightful to teach in the future. Being sort of a perfectionist on what I show, I decided to let that go. In my perfect world you would see everything appliqued in place, stems tucked under vines without extra seam allowance fabric showing before I trim and applique, but today I let that go and wanted to share what has been making me happy. Of course I will show the finished quilted piece when done.

I love when creative people take something you use for an obvious reason and make it into something you didn't think possible......

CROP CIRCLES

I have a fascination with crop circles. I am much more interested in their designs than if aliens landed . OK, to be truthful, I am a little curious about the talents these extraterrestrials have. I see some wonderful designs to be used in quilts...who would have thought aliens as our muses?

...finally getting back to blogging after a 6 month hiatus.

I can't believe it has been six months, but being the kind folks you are, I knew you would understand and I thank you for that. A much needed break brought all kinds of wonderful things to my life and that means I have much much to share, but of course, not in one blog posting.

I have picked up my paintbrushes once again and have put color to the paper and canvases.

My first attempt at painting a watercolor portrait was of my little grand baby Gabriella, who by the way is growing so quickly.

This article and quilt was a joint effort with friend Charlotte Angotti. We like to call it a 2 person quilt. A little different than the traditional round robin. Charlotte is a piecer (yes, she can applique too) and I am the appliquer (and yes, I can piece), but we did what we loved. Charlotte did all the piecing without me knowing what she would send and then I mulled it over a few days, ok a couple of weeks and then I did the applique and quilting.

We both love the color pink, so the name "I Believe in Pink" is playful and fun. The magazine has the piecing and instructions and then McCall's did a website exclusive for the applique with all my photographic step-by-step tutorial.

That made me very happy!

As you can see I have been busy.

I have decided to teach "Elegant Hearts in my workshops since so many people have asked about it. I have also decided to simultaneously teach hand and machine applique in my classes. It has gone smoothly. I wanted to accommodate both, not eliminated a group
for not wanting to do one or the another.

I have also been photographing like a mad woman. My sweetie bought me a fabulous camera.

A Canon Rebel T2i.

It's a learning curve and very different from the point and shoot cameras Sometimes I have to remember to focus the camera.

Yes, it is a bit pricey and I usually never get big gifts like this, but it was for one of my "big" birthdays late last year. Thank you honey!

I LOVE getting suprise emails. Especially from past students who have decided not to have another UFO in the closet and finished their class project. Betty Lewis from central PA emailed me her quilt from "The Wild Rose" class. Beautiful quilt Betty!

I applaud the maker of this quilt bug quilt. If you run across her, please let me know who she is. I want to put her name to this and would love to know how long this took. VW bugs have a special place in my heart. I had a blur on in my very early 20's!

Did you know my mom quilts too? Yep! Big congrats to my mom winning a blue ribbon at my quilt guild's quilt show this year! Her quilt's name: A Quiet Italian Village

Drawing,Snowman Quilt-Projects Made by Friends-February Winter Sale-Your Color Fix for Today, 2 Quilts for Sale

Winter has been miraculously beautiful this year, yet all the snow and ice has kept me housebound more than I care to admit. The could temperatures and icy conditions have me craving for the sunshine. I love this little cupcake and here is the recipe for this cutie.

My pencil and eraser have been neglected lately and I thought it was time to do some drawing. When I draw, it's automatic. I really don't think ahead of what I want to put on the paper, it just flows from the mind through my fingers. Sometimes my imagination races ahead of my fingers and I toggle between drawings...a little bit of this and that, add eyebrows and then go to the other drawing and add wings and then to the other to add shading.It is like a bunch of little drawing muses pushing each other out of line to get their drawing done first.

I appliqued this little snowman quilt at the end of last year and am now machine quilting it.I took a poll on Facebook asking about the tilted tree and it seemed that everyone said to leave it, and so I shall. Pattern for this will be out in early March...I know, a little late in the game, but winter and snow come every year!

I was walking little Zoie last month and saw this beautiful shape in the sky. I always have my camera in hand and clicked a pic. Later in that week, I realized the picture was taken on the same day my maternal grandmother passed away many years ago. I would like to think this figure in the sky is an angel, can you see her wings?

Sue Caldwell from Westbrookeville, NY send me her pictures of the lunch bag she made using my Iridescence Fabric Collection. I super love how she used the diamonds in the stripe on the handles. Beautiful job Sue!

This is my next project to machine quilt, I need to come up with a name as it will be a new class. I call it "The Monogram Quilt" for now, or maybe that name will just be fine to use! Those are my initials in the middle, but the nice thing is that you can ink, embroider or applique your names in the hearts and then put the family initilas in the center....Lots of possibilities! I will embroider the little doodads that extend from the top of the two hearts and then bead the ends.

I thought I lost these pictures but just found them on a camera card. While I was lecturing for a guild in Wellsboro, PA, my hostess showed me her kitchen. Now don't ask me where to get this, because I don't know. Her kitchen wallpaper had quilt blocks on it and her wooden floors had inlaid quilt block designs. She is so cool!!!

Three powerful words when you really think about it.

Do you "believe you can" do the things you have always wanted to do? Every beginning of the New Year, I sit quietly and write my intentions in a new notebook. Call it "goals" if you like, but I find the physical writing with a pen in hand makes it more real for me. I have put my written mark down on a clean page, a new slate of awesome, magical intentions that I do "believe" I can and will do. How about you?

Something I have been working on...

Everything I see or do "inspires" me. I cannot go anyplace without seeing something that makes me want to create. It's part of my genetics. I have been working on a series of motivational and/or inspiring pieces of art. This piece is one of the 3 I have completed and printed for my office. When done, the 12 pieces of art will be made into cards. I thought it would be nice to send these to someone just randomly to perhaps inspire them.

(pssst....my name is hidden in each piece)

Where has the time gone?

Grand baby Gabriella is now 18 months old.She is her own little person.

A personality is developing and we know she will be able to stand her own in the future.

She is a leader,we can tell that already..first words...Dada, mamma and STOP (with that talk to the hand gesture)...hmmm

Using my left overs..

This is one of the many things I do with all my leftover fusible bias tape....I weave them and make little applique pieces. This one is on the back pocket of my jeans where I tore a hole in it. I stitched it well and it washes just fine

My hats off to this gal. Courage is the word that comes to mind. I am thinking that "sewing" will be a life long passion in her life to get this tattoo!

Ok...I will admit I have ironed on one these ironing boards. My friend Charlotte brought this to retreat and we giggled alot....let's just say that little towel disappears with steam or heat. Lot's of ironing going on that day!

December 19th my mom had a milestone birthday of 75, but let me just say,if turning 75 is anything like my mom, it is the new 55.Really. My mom is a little fireball. Those who know my mom will say that when she laughs, it's from the heart and belly. She is the most organized woman I know, full of that wanderlust for travel which always makes her a perfect companion to travel the world with. She loves potato chips. Yes, when I was little and had to go to bed, I could hear her go to the snack closet and open that bag of chips. No fair Mom! She taught me to sew on her jazzy Singer sewing machine, she dressed my sister and I in identical outfits that she sewed, taught us good manners (or else!),and the list goes on. She is the best mother I could ever have. I love you Mom and Happy Birthday.....now don't go skating circles around me!!! :-)

FLY BY QUILTS?

Every November, I get together with some of my best quilting buddies where we Eat, Laugh, Quilt and EAT more! I am sure you have heard of Ricky Tim's Drive By Quilts? Our friend Mike Clark from Virginia Beach is a pilot and a photographer. For fun we thought it would be great to have a FLY BY Quilting Sighting. We all stood on the beach house deck while Mike did air stunts for us and took photos of us holding quilts we were working on.

My days are filled to the brim to the point I feel like I am always on the run. I should remember that saying "be careful what you wish for" for that was one of my New Year Goals I made. I am getting better at organizing my days and my calendar, but one of my goals for the coming new year will be to slow down, think and prioritize. This past autumn,when planning my classes for the coming year, I decided to make 3-4 of the 6 new ones a much easier pattern while still learning alot of the fundamentals like "perfect circles, accomplishing sharp points easily and making your own designer bias tape for stems"

So yes, these 3 new classes may look easy (which is GOOD), but they teach you the techniques that makes this achievable, which makes a "happy you".I teach the freezer paper glue stick method which is what has always worked best for me when appliqueing.

SIMPLE JOY

This class shows you how to make those perfect applique circles, easy, achievable sharp points and your own bias tape for stems

This class is machine or hand applique

SWIRLY BIRD

MAKING "CORDUROY BEAR" FOR GABRIELLA

My friend Debbie Caffrey was making two handmade teddy bears for her grand daughters . Debbie made these same bears for her children when younger and there were books to go with the bear.The book series is called "Corduroy Bear" and Debbie had a couple to see. Knowing I have a 16 mo. old grand baby, Debbie asked if I would like to make one with her as she had extra materials for me to use. My quick answer..."YES!"

Back from Quilt Market - the trade show of all trade shows

I must admit that I was in happy color overload and that is something hard to believe for myself. I was asked what color I thought was the dominant one, but for me, I don't see dominance, instead I see a wonderful melody of colors colliding and romancing one another. That's how I see it. Aside from all the new things out on the market, my favorite part is seeing the ingenious minds that put together spectacular booth set ups.

I have always lusted over a long arm sit down machine and this year I sat and played with the Handi Quilter Sweet 16 and "sweet" it is.Debby Brown, a fellow quilt instructor,Handi Quilter Educator, Facebook Friend and now real friend guided me through everything I needed to know for sewing on this baby. I am giving the Sweet 16 some serious thought.

I couldn't stop walking past this booth. It made me want to immediately go and modge podge my bicycle with fabric. I just may do that one day!

I met with Alex Veronelli and Davide from Aurifil. Yes, I am on the Aurifil Designer Program, and I have to say that this thread is super wow-wow to me. The colors are endless and I truly love the feel of the different weights. I have a mega amount at home and I can't wait to start on some new projects with them. (Promise to post pics when they are done)

Quilt Market fell over the Halloween date and her is my good friend Debbie Caffrey in her booth Debbie's Creative Moments" wearing her Robin Hood Costume. I did go by as much as I could to give her a potty break but at one point she told me "It's like wearing a wedding dress" meaning it's not so easy to want that potty break!

Quilt Market is a different animal compared to Quilt Festival. It's the business end of things. You don't see much in the way of quilty clothes and packs of huddled quilters giggling through the aisles. (But yes, I did see some fun people sporting pink hair and Halloween costumes!)

Such a nice and simple booth display. I really liked this one.

An here is my Seahorse Quilt from my "Seahorse" fabric line hanging in the Avlyn Booth with the little beach bag I mad hanging on top with it. If you would like to order some, click HERE, it's at the bottom of the post.

The New Gizmo's I Found at Market and Loved

I almost walked past this booth until I saw that pink thing make magic, well to me it was! It's by Imaginisce and is called a itop button and brad maker. I will be buying one and making covered buttons. It also does magnetic closures for purses!

And then there is another "must have" by Clover called the Flower Frill Templates that makes these very cool frilly flowers in seconds. I have to have this also.

Susan Brubaker Knapp has excellent pictures with a pictorial tutorial on these being made. So after reading my blog, go take a peak.

I must admit that it is so peaceful and quiet to see all the quilts hung before Quilt Festival even begins. My all time favorite is Hollis Chatelaine's "Innocence". I went back to this quilt three times and always saw something new.Please take some time to visit this link called "Imagine Hope" which is near and dear to her heart.

I could resist to show you this quilt. It is made up entirely of yo-yo's. If anyone knows the quiltmakers name, please let me know. My camera acted funky and my picture of the quilters name was all blurry. :-(

Things I have bought...just because....

I am on the road alot. I don't get the time to spend in the stores shopping, so wherever I am that is where I do my purchasing...... or online. Amazon to me has just about everything with great explanations, pictures and prices. One of the "color fixes" I needed were these gorgeous Derwent pencils. Yes, I am a color anything junkie!

I found this and I am tickled about it. As soon as it arrives I am painting the letters and the heart in with my paints made to paint on surfaces like this. YAY!!!!

And while in the Hilton hotel lobby at Quilt Market, I saw this lady reading her kindle and I had to ask her about the colors on it. I didn't know you could buy a "skin" for your Kindle. This is the one I chose to buy. They have all kinds but I didn't want anything to be to distracting to my reading and I think it's so pretty!

And what am I reading.....The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I love it!

The SEAHORSES have swam into my home!!!! Yeeee Haaaa

I can't tell you my excitement when the bolts of my Seahorse Collection arrived here at my home. This collection is colorful and the feel of the fabric is soooooo smooth. It is beyond my wildest dreams to have so much design and colors in my hands right now. This is one of the rectangles in the panel. This particular painting I did is so romantic. Look at their entwined tales. Yes, seahorses mate for life.

I never skimp on details and when you click on the images, you will see so much of the color and inking I have done to produce a fun and whimsical image. I wanted to have inquisitive fishies swim up to this seahorse. The hair and body was so much fun to paint in.

I loved drawing the coral (I draw and paint everything by hand). When I design, I never have anything pre-planned. I just draw my seahorse outline and doodle away never knowing what the end result will look like.

SEAHORSE PANEL 2328-600 This is the entire panel with so much for you to play with.

This seahorse was the very first one I designed and painted. There's alot of design going on in that body. If you applique, you can find all kinds of fun things to fussy cut!

I love to design little borders and this was truly a blast for me to draw and play with.

I am so pleased with the background blenders. The colors are super yummy, and I really mean this. SEAHORSE: Seafoam 2328-103,Orchid 2328-105, Blue 2328-117

These two backgrounds come in super light blue (on top) and a light green. Each of the fishies are are colorful and playful. I just let myself randomly draw flowing lines that became ocean vines and then drew in the fish to swim and play between them.SEAHORSE: Lt Blue 2328-207 and Lt Green 2328-203

We can't forget those superlicious blenders to go with this collection.

No ocean scene can be without an ocean floor and it comes in 3 colorways. this is the blue one. Here you can see my love for doodling

The Seahorse toss is amazing! My friend Diann calls this seahorses, "Seahorses with personality". She was right on the mark because that is what I was going for. Something fun for a baby and of course adults!

I couldn't forget the stripe!!!


I wish that the computer images could pop into your hand for a second. The colors are superb and I wish i could project that through these photographs. There is so much potential to do alot of stuff with the stripe. Not only do you get the seahorses, but that fun design in the stripe and stripes of the ocean floor. Fun! STRIPE 2328-500

Iridescence Small Quilt and Fabric Object Contest

I CANT BELIEVE TODAY IS HERE!!!

I have been filled with anticipation on launching this small quilt contest along with fabric objects.

I promise you...it's easy peasy lemon squeezy!

The Quilt Top rules:

Finished quilt top: 40" x 40" (want to go larger...knock yourself out, but not required - oh, and notice I said it only has to be a quilt top? Want to quilt it? Of course you can, but you don't have to!)
The yard panel or a yard of stripe is required and must be someplace in the quilt top (not so bad, huh? and don't feel you have to use the whole yard either, just has to be in there)
Three of the supporting fabrics must be in it (example: 2 of the dragonfly fabrics and one of the medallions...or visa versa or 3 medallions or 3 dragonflies...you get the idea, right?)
Add three of your own fabrics
Pieced or appliqued or both...it's up to you. Want to make 3D, origami, fused, paint over it? Anything goes.
Put your thinking caps on, design your own pattern, use your favorite pattern, make it simple or not simple...it's your quilt, so just go for it....but YOU HAVE TO HAVE FUN!

AMAZING QUILT SIGNS IN PENNSYLVANIA

Driving to my lecture through the Endless Mountains in NE PA my final destination was to The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild in Wellsboro, PA.

Yep, my article is on page XX and I had a blast interviewing and seeing other quilters with a passion for all things quilty. A passion that runs so deep that sometimes the misplacement,

or just -gotta- have- it multiplies into a mountain of quilt stuff. It's all about pack rat quilters which gave my curiosity a run for it's money wondering how many people have zillions of the same quilt item or who collects what. It all started when I basically gutted my sewing room and did a major redo/re-organizing of it and found that I owned over 50 pairs of scissors....
my, my...OH MY, just way to many to own.

As quilt instructors, we teach with all we have inside of us hoping upon hope that our students are filled with our knowledge of what they need to know to be happy appliquers. Whe have invested our time bonding to our students and watching their applique project grow throughout class. Then, class is over and we may never see what they have gone on to do. I cannot tell you how happy I am when a student comes to a symposium, retreat, guild or quilt show with a project they learned from me a year or years ago. I am tickled when I open an email reading their beaming words and so proud to show me their completed quilt. I thank all of you who remember me me and remember to show me those once littles baby quilt tops that grew into a beautiful quilt!

Doris Woodward from Florida, emailed me her completed "Tippy Toes" quilt from a class I taught to her guild. Doris' grand daughter named her Spacie Luna and I love the label Doris made, waiting for Mackenzie to write her story!

Betty Hamernik from Bentonville,Arkansas emailed me a pic of her "Roses" quilt titled, "My love is like a Rose" after purchasing my Bended Bias Applique book and asked permission to enter it in a show, which got juried into AQS Knoxville Quilt Show. Fingers crossed for you Betty!!!!

Nancy Rogers emailed me her finished Bended Bias Butterflies quilt after taking a class with me in South Carolina! So proud of you Nancy!

Mindy brought her finished Dancing with the Dolphins quilt to my class in Maryland
from a class she took with me at MAQ 2 years ago in Maryland. AWESOME WORK MINDY!

Grand Baby Gabriella's First Birthday

Where has the time gone? One year ago we waited with anticipation for her arrival and here she is already looking like a little person. Her tiny features are developing, her personality is calm and serene, she loves to take things apart while studying it and then she tries to put it back together.

We secretly believe she already knows how to text messages from watching her parents! Happy birthday my little sunshine and brightest part of my world!
